Father Christmas took time out of his very busy schedule this week to drop in on the children of Greenleaf Primary School. They were able to help him overcome his terrible tiredness, by sprinkling him with magic Christmas dust – and he was so pleased, he gave every child in school an early Christmas present. Not to be opened until Christmas Day, of course!
Last week’s Christmas Fair was a wonderfully warm, vibrant and exciting whole school community event. Stalls included the Chocolate Tombola, Crafts, Pin the Tail on the Reindeer and much more! Needless to say, the fact that Father Christmas took the time to visit was very popular with all the children. A fabulous selection of hot and cold food went down very well with the adults, as did the mulled wine!
A huge thank you to the parents and staff of the PTA who organised the event. Much hard work before, during and after really paid off – an amazing £2,100 pounds raised! Wow!
Pupils from Year 1 to Year 6 today wowed parents with their love of music and musical ability. Every child in school took part in singing Christmas songs to mark the festive season and many played musical instruments, including recorder, violin, clarinet and flute – some in groups and some soloists! The quality of the music was fabulous and was an excellent way to enjoy the Christmas spirit. Many parents came along, enjoying mince pies and refreshments before the concert, and commenting on what a magical experience it had been!
Last Friday Greenleaf Primary School watched a fabulous performance of ‘a Christmas Carol’ – the pantomime!
We watched it to get us in the christmasy mood for the 25th of December…..AND IT WORKED! [HOO…OOO…RRR…AY!!]
Ramah, Leila and Arthur commented, “It was great – really funny and really amusing for Christmas!”
